So who is feeling like a prime idiot right now?
Oh yes. It is me.
You see, I spent all day yesterday without a mobile phone signal. Sometimes this is not a surprise. I live in a ditch, otherwise known as a valley, when I'm feeling charitable, which is more often than I used to. ANYWAY.
It didn't even fix itself when I went into town, which sometimes it will because, being three miles away, town is in a more open part of the valley and on a different mast.
What this meant is that no-one could call me (highly unlikely anyway, but you never know), and I had to switch on the wireless to access email and Twitter. Anyway, I was all set to have to complain to EE, and this morning, I put on the computer so that I could check the internets to see if anyone else was having this problem locally.
As the computer booted up, and my phone was STILL struggling to find the network, I remembered that I was going to take the battery out, and clean the contacts on my SIM card. Which I did. When the phone finished rebooting, I got an alert telling me I'd got an email. Because, you see, it had a signal, and it was perfectly formed, and if only I'd done this yesterday, I wouldn't be sitting here feeling like a fool.
Except I am, so there we go.
(P.S. I want a new phone, because this one is rubbish and why oh why did I stop having an Android phone because did I mention this one is rubbish, and the only thing it has going for it is the full keyboard?)
ETA: Since I wrote this, the phone signal's disappeared again. Guess I better hop on EE's website and see WTF is up. [/ETA]
ETA the second: Turns out it wasn't just me that had problems once the 4G was rolled out - the entire 3G for EE went down.
Having problems finding if there's any probs at the moment, though. My Google-fu is rubbish. [/eta]
ETA the third: OK, internets say it could be the phone itself (see, I knew it was a heap of shit), and this is more than likely the case. Currently checking out different phones (like, oh, I don't know, ANDROID ONES) and considering changing my provider, even though I've pretty much been with EE (as T-Mobile) for the last TWELVE YEARS.
No, I'm not angry, why do you ask.
(Maybe I should get a Windows Phone *shudder* then I can play Ilomilo on it)[/ETA]
