Finally I managed to get some grey felt that is the right colour for a Totoro! It's not big, but I guess it's better to mess up a smaller piece (hopefully not!) than a bigger one. I can always make a bigger one later c:
I've wanted to make one for a while now, which I think was inspired by having a conversation with Annette about Totoros that are available to buy, but don't always look right (generally the eyes seem to be off to us). Mine's going to be a sleepy Totoro, as I like his little dot for a mouth.
I keep coming back to soft toys, so I don't know why I shouldn't just indulge myself. (See also: how I accidentally discovered that I love making sculptures. I really wish I'd figured it all out about ten years ago, though).
(My goodness, you can get safety noses! What a great idea).
I might make him tomorrow. I am finding it so hard to NOT work. It's been this way since I started working for myself, and I wish I knew a way to switch my brain off work mode, and not feel so guilty about noodling about all day on the internet, or playing games, or whatever.
Sleep now; work the rest out later.
