1. I got fed up with my hair, so I have cut the majority of it off. So now I have super short hair, and all the bleached bits are finally gone. However, there is a lot of grey, so possibly I will do what a friend did, and get a semi-permanent colour to go over it. (She did hers blue, and it looked awesome).

2. We are due thunderstorms on Friday, after it has been apocalyptically hot here tomorrow.

3. I rewatched Wreck-It Ralph the other day, and noticed a whole bunch of things I didn't catch the first time. I was also impressed with how well I remembered the plot, and how well put together and foreshadowed the plot is! (Seriously, I wish I could write something that well!) I also didn't think I was enjoying it as much as last time, so was completely caught out when a couple of things at the end made me cry.

4. Talking of animated stuff, I watched an episode and a half of Miraculous Ladybug a while back. The half an episode was a season two one I haven't seen (I haven't seen any of season two*) and IDK if it's just me, but the animation quality doesn't seem to be as good? It's probably me being picky (because I am where animation is concerned), and probably because I haven't seen any episodes for a while.

And I didn't enjoy the episode from series one as much, which was a shame.

*I stopped following the creator on twitter/stopped being as interested in the show when it turned out he's racist. I'm not surprised (he's made comments before that made me think it), but I am really disappointed. But yeah, it's completely soured me on the show.

5. I don't have a number five, but five things make a post, right?
For the past few days I have been knitting a cushion while rewatching Miraculous Ladybug. I am still enjoying it. Which is good.

I've thought about starting a new video game, but everything I have seems to tend towards depressing, and I don't want that right now. I want happy, cute, things, hence Ladybug! (I actually made a list of things I'd like in a game; IDK if there is one that fits those criteria, but it gives me something to think about). I did also think about arsing about in Skyrim, but it kind of bores me? I mean it's an OK game but ehhhhh I'm not that bothered by it. Also it glitching out all the time annoys me.

I dunno, I think I am just feeling super picky about stuff at the moment.

(I was originally going to watch some Adventure Time, but I just wasn't feeling it. Which is a shame, because I love that show and I haven't watched any for yeeeeeaaaars).

Adventures with Ubuntu 16.04 include:

# having it crash after using LibreOffice for half an hour.
# stop using LibreOffice, and then have it crash whenever anyway (I went two days without it crashing until today but *shrug emoji*)

# Apparently it's because of the kernel. It can be fixed by installing a newer kernel, but I don't want to do that because it can muck up your install.

# I like that everything looks nicer? Clearer? I like it, anyway.
# I like software centre update. Good grief, did it need that.
# I also like that I can plug my phone in and it effin' works! I'm almost tempted to try my scanner, even though I know damn well it won't.

Mostly I'm happy with it. I just hope the newer kernel release comes along soon because OMFG ALL THE CRASHING. I thought Linux wasn't supposed to do this!
I'm watching the Buffy film and OMG it's so bad. It's just not good. There is some BAAAAAD acting (and some terrible dialogue). I suppose I'm just used to the TV series at this point.

(I like that Buffy's personality is roughly the same between both versions, though).

I wouldn't say don't ever watch this film, though. I'd say watch it at least once, especially if you've never seen it.

I finished the main plot in Skyrim the other day, almost by accident. It was kind of eh.

I'm not sad to be done with it, as it's the glitchiest and most crash-prone game I've ever played. Also I don't know if I've been sitting funny while playing it, or what, but it's either given me neck ache or a headache, and occasionally both.

Whatever, I'm done with it now. *throws it on the pile of finished games*

I have no idea what to play next. I don't want to try Lightning Returns again yet (and no way am I restarting a new cycle in that because NOPE NOPE NOPE). I also am loathe to finish P4A, but I am very close to the end of that, so I ought to, really. I think I'll youtube Ultimax, though.

HOLY SHIT I JUST REALISED A THING ABOUT MIRACULOUS LADYBUG (apart from the fact that I need to rewatch it)

spoilers? re: who knows what about whom )

I slept badly the night before last, waking up quite a lot every so often. At 3:45am, I had to get up for a drink, and then was TOTALLY AWAKE, so decided to lie in bed, reading one of my French grammar books (I've done it before. I suppose I pick French because I'm familiar with it, where German is still a little out of reach for me).

I've started making a notebook in which to refresh my French, but also record German equivalents of phrases in the hope that I won't forget the German. And also because I hope that it will strengthen my knowledge of both languages (because I'm so mad at myself that I didn't put more effort into keeping a good knowledge of French. I could've been doing translation work by now if I had!)

Mum has started calling Miraculous Ladybug "The Squeaky Girls" (because the French dub follows anime voice cues, it seems to me*). She then said that sounded like a knockoff girl group (because of course it does).

AW MAN I LOVE THIS SHOW.

(I totally was not expecting to, btw).

(Talking of which, from next Saturday, the Disney channel are showing new episodes! \o/ I actually don't hate the English dub as much as I thought I might - I don't like some of the voices, but I don't hate this version).

let's talk about spoilers! )

~

*in that teenage girls are very squeaky, and the villain has a voice from the depths of hell. In the English dub, the girls just sound normal, but the villain still sounds like he crawled out of hell (sort of).

Happy FFXII-is-10 day!

I celebrated it by doing nothing related to it, because I'm the worst kind of fan.

So I, um, started watching Miraculous Ladybug? (it is all Reg's fault, but not in a bad way).

I wasn't super into it, and was mainly watching for Marinette's incredible facial expressions*. Also it's doing a great job of convincing me I'm more familiar with French than I think I am. I mean yay some the slang I learnt during the ages of 16-18 is getting a flexing \o/ (this is because it's a French animation, and I'm watching the French version with English subtitles).

Anyway, the one episode I saw this morning totally sold me on the whole thing and I really like it and the fanart is really cute and help?

Also fuck yes magical girls!
(which reminds me, I need to watch that one Precure series that I still haven't managed to see yet. I mean I haven't seen ANY Precure, but there's one series in particular that I want to watch).

~

*You know, time travel wins me over in lot of cases, but so do amazing facial expressions.
