So, a couple of days ago, we're watching Pointless, and one of the head-to-head questions is five facts about Robin Hood - I get all of them right, which wasn't really a surprise, because they're not that difficult, except the one where it asked in which Walter Scott novel was Robin known as Locksley. I did get that right, but it wasn't as easy as the others (the answer's Ivanhoe, and it was a fluke that I got it right anyway).

After being incredibly smug for all of about a minute, I then went on to say that Robin Hood was, more than likely, my most favourite folk hero. Mum was surprised to hear me say this, probably because I don't really talk about it. I mean, nobody goes around asking people who their favourite folk heroes are, do they? I was surprised that she didn't know this as:

a) The Disney Robin Hood film is probably my favourite Disney (there's other contenders, but DUDE TALKING FOXES!)
b) I was all set to watch the BBC series a few years back till I realised I'd probably think it was a load of tosh, based on the trailers (and from what I read about it, I still think I'd think it's a load of tosh. The only good thing it has going for is that Richard Armitage is in it, but even that didn't sway me).

I said I ought to watch the Disney film again, because it's been a while and I enjoy it so much. The conversation pretty much ended there.

And then last night we watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, as it was on Channel 5. I haven't seen it in about a decade, and I always enjoy it, ridiculous as it is. AND BOY IS IT RIDICULOUS. Turns out it was the extended version, which I don't think I've ever seen before. (Or if I have, I don't remember it).

But mainly the point of this is that I wanted to document how weird it is that the universe works in mysterious ways, sometimes (I honestly did not know the film was on until Saturday and that was at least half a week after the episode of Pointless).

(Also while typing this I just learnt a new trick in Firefox! CTRL + P SHIFT+CTRL+P gets you a window to browse privately - so it won't remember any history or anything. That's neat and kind of scary at the same time).

ETA: I was alerted to my bob-boo in the comments. CTRL+P, as anyone knows, is print options and I didn't realise that till DAYS later. God help anyone who thinks I'm intelligent, that's all I can say. /eta
