I am ~80 pages away from the end of The Fifth Season \o/

This is the fastest I've read a book IN LITERAL YEARS! I gushed about it to two separate people at work (and also my friend Chris), while also saying I wasn't that engaged in it (pfffft, what do I know).

I've got the other two books waiting to be read - they were indeed both in the library when I went, so YAY. They are now sitting on the floor by my chair, waiting to be read :D

I am glad I read this whilst mostly unspoilt for it. I know one thing that is meant to be a surprise (not a twist, as such, but you're not meant to know it until the end, or near the end), but there were at least two things I didn't see coming, and yeah...that was good. I like it when that happens.

Also I have two books sort of queued up for my next reads after these (three, if you count my other library book, but now IDK if I want to read that anymore). One of my work colleagues said she'd lend me My Sister The Serial Killer, and the other one said she'd lend me the first of the Kingkiller chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, which I'm leery about (I read about them and wasn't too taken with the premise), but eh, I'll give it a go.

I think I will probably try reading some more of NK Jemisin's books, but maybe not right away after I've finished these (I don't even know if the library has anything else by her, so I might have to order them in - oh nice, they have The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms and its sequels! Those were the ones I wanted to read!)

(also yassss they also have Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet \o/ which is not one of hers, but I have wanted to read it for a while now)

I actually forgot what it felt like to be excited about books, and reading. I am SO EXCITED for all the things I might be able to read this year!
