Hope everyone's New Year celebrations went well, or as well as they could do.

So because I am on a mission to eventually watch The Last Jedi (sadly it won't be in the cinema), my first purchase of the new year was the prequels and The Force Awakens and Rogue One. Also the Knights of the Old Republic games, because I saw them years ago and didn't buy them, so I am correcting that mistake.
Anyway, yeah, all the whiners on the internet have got me intrigued at TLJ - as have the people giving it praise, let's be honest. I want to know why it seems to be such a divisive film!
I've been decidedly "meh" about the sequels/side stories but idk, I want to know what's made the fanboys so angry. But I'm also aware that I need the context of the preceding films, even the prequels, and I like making myself experience terrible media so oh boy here we go.
On that note, today I received TFA, Rogue One, and Revenge of the Sith. So obvs I can't start watching anything yet. I mean, I did watch the original trilogy over New Year (all the films were longer than I remembered! But it's been a while since I last watched them, and while I've spent my entire life being a nerd about them, I don't think I've seen them as often as some films I've watched? *shrugs*). But I can't watch anything else until The Phantom Menace arrives (well, I could, but I'd like to go in order of release).

Having utterly failed to beat my reading challenge on Goodreads for last year, I have set my challenge for this year way, way lower. (I originally aimed for 25, then lowered it to 22 when it became clear there was no way that was happening. So this year I'm going for 15, and try not to feel too bad about not reading*. Also a proportion of my books seem to be DNFs, and I'd like to cut down on those/be able to eliminate them properly from my total for the year).
