Turns out Photoshop hates my printer!

I suspect it's because I'm using a very old version (it's the only one I've got that I can make run on Linux via WINE), and my printer is only two years old.

I managed to get my printer to work fine (i.e. not take half an hour to process a 600DPI print) by dropping the picture into Open Office???? I tried it as an artist I started watching recently on youtube does this for all her prints (I think she uses Word, but she doesn't have PShop or similar on her Mac, so this is what she does).

It absolutely baffles me that that worked, but I am not going to complain! I will have to figure out a few things, but if it means I get stuff done quicker, that can only be a good thing. The only real problem I will have is 6x4 prints, but I'll find a way to sort it.

Also turns out that complaining on the internet works! I got a reply from the sticker paper company, as noted in a previous post, and now the new order they made me has been shipped. It has not arrived, but hey ho. Hopefully it will get here soon.

And talking of waiting for things to turn up in the post, I ordered four half pans of Winsor & Newton Cotman paints, since I already have a small set of 12. I wanted some colours that I obviously didn't have, and they were less than RRP, so I thought I'd get them while I had the money (it now means I've spent ~£15 on six paints, and that feels really weird).

Anyway, I got dioxazine purple, indigo, Payne's grey, and turquoise.

And in spite of the website's shipping info saying they were delayed in sending stuff out, my stuff shipped yesterday! And it's only coming from Blackpool, which isn't that far away from me*, really (I've ordered from them before, which is how I know). I can't remember how long the last order took, but I know the post's been slow of late (e.g. I haven't got my Xmas present from Katy, yet, but I know she posted it over a week ago). I don't think it will turn up today, but that doesn't stop me hoping it will, because that's how my brain works, yaaaay.

*Apparently, it's fifty miles away! Which is further than I thought! Sounds about right, though, because that's seaside, and where I live is almost as inland as you can get in the UK.
