Aug. 22nd, 2019

Yesterday I did a full day at work. I don't usually, but I've been having training lately, and the only available times to do that are when I'm not on the rota for volunteering. ANYWAY.

I got home at half five and I was all, "this is not too bad, I don't feel too exhausted by this!" Cut to an hour and a half later, after I've eaten, and all I have the energy for is dinking about in Hello Kitty Friends and staring blankly at Youtube videos. I almost fell asleep watching Critical Role (which I actually didn't watch that much of because I'd been watching PoGo videos and art videos instead).

I still don't think I could do an entire week of eight hour days, or even two days in a row, though.

I just bought myself a copy of FFV GBA off ebay after whiffling about it for literally months. It was pretty cheap, so I don't feel too bad about getting it.

I started a new sketchbook recently, and I've barely used it but I love it already??? It's a Daler Rowney one, and it's one that was one of mum's (but she never got to using it). The paper is slightly textured, but it takes ink reeeeeeaaaaaallllly nicely. I haven't tried it out with all my ink pens yet, and certainly not my dip pen, but I am loving it! The only pen I have an issue with at the moment is my Pilot drawing pens, but that's probably because my current set's nibs are worn down*, and the way I hold them means they catch on the texture (sadly). But it's okay, other than that this is great!

Hopefully it will also be good with paints and other media, as it's 150 GSM paper (which is standard-ish for cartridge paper/mixed media sketchbooks).

*I honestly thought until extremely recently that NOTHING would stop me using them, as they've been a staple in my art supplies literally since I was a kid, but then I started using my dip pen, and I discovered the Uniball Eye pens and, um, yeah...I do still have a range of Pilot pens, and I'll never stop using them, but possibly once I'm done with my backlog of drawing pens, I might never use them again!
