Yesterday, I ordered a scanner with my birthday money. Hopefully it will be a bunch faster and quieter than my old one (which makes a juddery noise when it scans, but it's always sounded like that). The specs reckon it scans in 16 seconds, but I have no idea how fast or slow the old one is.
I also had to buy a new lead for my headphones, which annoyed me, because I've only had them a few months. Luckily, they have a detachable lead, which seems to be the thing that's broken (I can't claim them under warranty, since I don't have the original receipt any more, and I don't think the company that made them will take printouts of tweets as proof of purchase). I'll be mad if it isn't because I've literally only had them months.
Anyway, bitching about my headphones aside, my things will arrive tomorrow! I didn't even pay for special delivery (I didn't pay full stop - basic delivery was free). I was really not expecting that, since the estimated dates on the site said 3 - 5 days for regular delivery.
I am way happier about this than I expected to be.

I am still reading The Scorpio Races, but I'm into the final furlong now, ho ho ho.
(Who likes making lame jokes? OH YES IT IS ME).
I am sorry to anyone who wants my library's copy of The Raven Boys, but it's staying next to my chair till I've read the next book (or tried, anyway). Which is not a Maggie Stiefvater, because I thought I should have a break in between the two.

I have been making a present for Jackie for her fortieth birthday and I have finally finished it! Oh man, it took forever! I've been working on it since the end of November, but didn't anticipate being ill for most of December. I mean, I was joking when I said to her that it would take till her birthday to make it, but I didn't really expect it to be almost true. (Her birthday's at the end of March, so it is ready in time, but I thought I would've finished it a while ago).

I've been messing about with watercolours and lots of water and it is much fun. I really like painting, even though I don't do it a lot, and I don't think I'm very good at it.
