I meant to buy notebooks today! No particular reason, I just like notebooks. Also, technically the books I'm sketching in are supposed to be notebooks, but the paper is nice and not lined and that to me = sketchbook.
Anyway, I didn't buy notebooks, because I ended up buying other things instead. Which did not include video games, though given my unplayed/unfinished list, that's probably a good thing.
It was flea market day in Burnley, and I managed to snag a box full of embroidery threads for six quid. I asked how much for the lot, and the lady looked and me and said, "Are you sure you want all those browns?" and I said yes. (They were nice browns, anyway). I counted them out, and there's forty-nine skeins in there. Bargain.
I also bought cheap wrapping paper for next year, because apparently my brain decided I needed that.
And then there was the set of Maggie Stiefvater books. Sadly, they were not Raven Cycle ones, they were the werewolf ones which, if you've been here long enough, I read the first one and didn't like it very much. However. I'd been thinking about rereading it, and I found a post somewhere where the person writing it said they didn't like Shiver at all, but the other two were OK. I paid three fifty* for all three, so they didn't cost me half the earth, and if I still don't like them, I won't feel bad for wasting my money. Also they can go to a good home, like the library, or charity, if I don't want them.
(I suppose I'm going to read all her books, eventually. The library system has most of them, so it's not like they're going to be hard to get hold of).
I also almost bought myself an A6 sized sketchbook, to carry about with me when I'm out (not that I use sketchbooks much when I'm out, but I'm hoping this'll encourage me). I didn't in the end, because I thought maybe it would be cheaper if I looked on Cass Art (that place is dangerous, though. Beware). Halfway through looking through said website, I suddenly realised that I didn't need to buy any weeny sketchbooks, as I have at least two unused and one partially used A6 sketchbooks upstairs. So thankfully, my waffly nature saved me some money!
I finally found aloe vera juice in Tesco again. I think this is my reward for having been ill for an entire two weeks now.

*I'm not using the pound sign because my kboard decided to switch to American and I thought it didn't do that any more, so I don't have the indicator to switch in my taskbar. I will fix it later.
