Jinny has decided that she is an outdoor cat.
She kept going over and looking at the front door, so yesterday we tried letting her out to explore. It was weird and ultimate proof that cats will not do what you want them to. I say this because when we got her, the lady from Cats Protection said to follow her outside to make sure she has something familiar around. Well, the one neighbour doesn't appreciate having animals in her garden, so where did Jinny make a beeline for? Yeah. And in spite of me calling her, and rattling biscuits for her, she sat there in said garden having a wash. I got bored and went in, eventually.
She's been out again today, for longer (she nagged till I let her and boy can she nag*), and has discovered the bush in the garden next door, which all the neighbourhood cats like sitting under (I hope the owner doesn't mind, but she's never said anything about Charlie going under there).
So that's a thing.
*I thought she was going to be a quiet cat, like cats generally are (Charlie is part Siamese/other Oriental, and very vocal with it). OH HELL NO. She nags when she's hungry, and she nags when she wants to go out, and it's this constant MOW MOW MOW. I wish it was cute, but it really isn't.

In writing news, I keep feeling guilty about concentrating on my main character. I mean, WTF, brain? SHE'S MY MAIN CHARACTER. IT IS HER STORY. (Well, it isn't, but she's the viewpoint character).
Oh I tell you what, though, everyone's hair/eye colour is the worst because it's pretty much all black/brown (for legit reasons). So I'm thinking about dyed hair, even though these guys are army and it's probably not allowed (but it is the future, so what I say goes??? ;) )
I have almost filled the notebook I was using to write in, so that's good (although I think it was only 100 pages, and it was part used for another story, but even so. Proud of myself). I need to find another one now.
In other news, I was going to watch Prometheus over Easter, but the library wouldn't let me take it out because I had fines. Anyway, they're holding it till Tuesday, by which time I will be able to pay off the fines. I also need to remember to buy myself a copy of Starship Troopers (book not film, because I believe the film is AWFUL), because the library did not have a copy of that which I wasn't impressed with. But I'm not in charge of what books they own (sadly).
(I may have mentioned this before, so apologies if I'm repeating myself. I'm still not sleeping well and things with me aren't amazing right now).
