I decided on another goal for this year: I'd like to read more again. I haven't read much in the last three years, and that grieves me. Well, it's not strictly true - I've read a lot on the internet, but actual books? Nada. I finished, like, two, and one of them was a pile of crap. I started a load, but never got further than a third of the way through, by which time I'd lost interest.
Over Xmas I picked up a book about the English language, and I started reading that. I've been reading it consistently over the last few days. It's easy because I've read it before, and I'm interested in the subject matter. And then we watched the Deathly Hallows, and me and mum both had trouble remembering what the hell happened anyway (because neither of us have read the book since it was published), and I thought: "Hang on a minute. This happened in 2004. I read Harry Potter, and that got me reading again".
So I went and dug out all seven books, and they're stacked up in front of the sofa. Except for the first one. I started reading that last night, and actually had to stop myself reading it (though given I didn't fall asleep till after 2am, maybe I should've carried on). Hopefully it won't take me six weeks to finish it this time ;)
(I would not describe myself as a fan of the series by any means. I like them, but that's as far as it goes. I mean, if you want to share interesting stuff with me, that's fine. I'm not averse to it (psst I even did fanart, back in 2004/5*), but I just wouldn't say I was that much of a fan).

*If I find it, I am probably going to tear my eyes out because hopefully I've levelled up art-wise in the last decade.
