My room is finally how I want it! Except that, like when you take something apart, I somehow do not seem able to fit everything back in. I'll sort it, eventually, and it'll feel more roomy when I've got rid of my old rickety desk and the magazines that need recycling.

The only thing I haven't managed to do is make my desk space under the window, but I can do that next weekend. There's also a whole bunch of crap that I've been hanging onto for no reason that needs to go bin-wards, but that can wait, too. For now, my bed is where I wanted it, and that makes me happy. And I vaguely know where everything is now.

I am very sore, and was kept awake for some time last night, but not by the annoying neighbour (although she was up to her usual tricks - I heard her music, but not as loudly since I'm now an entire room away from her). I was knackered, went to bed, and suddenly was wide awake. I HATE THAT.

I watched Thor. It was an all right film (let's put it this way, I know my low points for films, and the worst EVER is Reign of Fire. I'm never going to get that time back).

I'm glad I didn't watch it because I liked the comics, because I can imagine it would've made my skin itch? As it was, I found parts of it hilarious (particularly Thor's interactions with the mere mortals when he first arrives). I thought Anthony Hopkins was great as Odin, and a really good choice. I liked Idris Elba as Heimdall (and I liked his armour, although his golden eyes freaked me out) - it made a nice change from a willowy albino/super blond dude/whatever. Although I am kind of weak to him, anyway ;) I also liked that Sif got to be completely kick ass (and why was there not more of that? Hey, Paramount, can we have a whole film about Sif?)

I really loved the differences in speech patterns between the Asgardians and the humans, too - I thought that that was a great choice to have been made, and it's a lot better than the cod Shakesperian dialogue that's rampant in the comics.

I thought the Frost Giants looked pretty cool, too (although their design reminds me of something - I'm getting Farscape vibes, mostly, but there's also something Jack Frost-ish about them, but that kind of makes sense? Do they look like that in the comics? If so, awesome! If not, good on the make-up artists!)

But in the end, I didn't feel as if I'd wasted my time or my money watching it. I'd easily watch it again if someone asked me to (as it is, it has to go back to the library tomorrow).

I did not expect to have that much to say about it. HMM.
