I don't feel like I've talked about art in forever. Although I've not really had much to say. Right now I'm just getting my head down and doodling and/or making more finished drawings. I won't say I'm trying to draw every day (because I'm not), but I am trying to draw when I feel the urge.
And I'm totally feeling the urge a lot at the moment. Which is good. I'm not exaggerating when I say I love drawing. I really do.
Anyway, that was part of the point of this post. The other part of the point was this:
I think some of my problem is scale. I don't really draw on anything bigger than A4 paper, and I never really have. Not because I think there's anything wrong with that, but just because it's never really occurred to me. But earlier today, I was thinking about sci-fi arts (and I'm not going to apologise for going on about it lately; I take my inspiration where I can damn well get it). And I thought, "you know, maybe you'd have more luck if you started drawing bigger, so you can get more detail in".
However, I think that is a rule that can apply in all the drawing/art/whatever I do. And maybe while I'm at it I can get over my phobia of using large paintbrushes (it's not a phobia so much as I just don't want to use them - I'm more afraid of messing up with them).
So. Uh. Yeah. I have several A3 sketchbooks that I'm going to start using. I also said to mum that I think my scanner is finally starting to give up the ghost. I've had it for nearly ten years now, so I think it's done well. So I'm going to get an A3 scanner when I get a new one. I know they're more expensive, but a) that makes sense and b) if I'm going to be doing art that size, it also makes sense to get one.
That's where my brain's been today.

In other news, I rescued Liara in, like, twenty minutes to half an hour (if that). The boss fight was over in seconds; I actually think Garrus and Kaidan took the Krogan Warlord out while I was dealing with a geth sniper. I don't remember seeing him at all. Now I'm doing as many side-quests as I can in the Citadel before I run out or get bored.
Off to Feros and Noveria eventually, I guess (although part of the reason I bought the game in the first place was the ridiculous amount of side-quests).
