1. I will finally be getting my new glasses on Thursday!!
Which is a relief because my old ones are now driving me round the twist. I realised a while back that the anti-glare glaze is coming off them, and I think it's affecting my vision to some degree. And I didn't know until I went for my eye appointment that you can get glasses reglazed, as I saw a notice offering the service while I was waiting to be seen. Except it's probably expensive, and I don't need it for this pair now. And won't have to worry about it with the new ones, as I'm not getting it because urgh, money.
But anyway! NEW GLASSES GET FINALLY!
2. I spent most of this week feeling vaguely under the weather thanks to my horrible tooth. Which, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but any time I get even a vague infection in my sinuses, it sets the tooth off hurting. Or possibly it's the other way round, but whatever. So I've spent most of the week feeling gross and not doing a lot (and feeling bad about it), while curled up in bed playing Slay the Spire (and also feeling bad about this).
It's getting better and definitely isn't as painful as it was on the first day, and will eventually stop, so I'm in two minds about whether to call the dentist. Although he has said that tooth needs to come out, but I feel like he's waiting till the absolute last minute. By which time I could probably take it out myself. Anyway, since it's the weekend, there's nothing I can do right now.
3. I made the mistake of looking up tips for Slay the Spire, and omg it's worse than looking up RPG tips. There's a very strong aura of OMG YOU'RE PLAYING IT WRONG, certainly from the stuff I saw. Which I also encountered when looking up Inscryption stuff but, obviously, I wasn't playing that, and it wasn't quite as bad, but STS advice just feels very...off-putting, which is putting it nicely.
On the other hand, I did a daily challenge for the first time yesterday, and came out of it feeling super awesome because a whole bunch of cool things happened, and I got really far into the game. I've been avoiding the daily challenges because a lot of them have been using a character I haven't unlocked yet (I think you get them once you get to the end of the spire for the first time), so didn't want that to be my first experience of them. But yesterday's was using the Silent, who I really like using, so I thought I'd give it a go! I didn't get all the way up, but I don't care. I had fun, and that's what counts.
4. I went into town yesterday, in part, to pick up actual books I had requested from the library! All requests are free at the moment, so that's an amazing incentive to go and request more :D
I am currently, although not with much gusto because what is concentrating on books these days, reading Problems and Other Solutions by Allie Brosh. I read Hyperbole and a Half about a million years ago, so I was glad when this finally got published, although I am still having a bad time making myself concentrate on reading. It's the first book I've read since November :O
The books I picked up were three embroidery and one sewing book. I've flipped through them but not really looked at them properly, but am finding them (somewhat) inspiring all the same.
5. I thought I had a #5, but I don't, so I shall end this post here!
