something reeeeeaaaallly fishy

I'm going to be getting some more overtime at work, which is nice. One day of it is next week, and some is in November, but I need to sort that out with my boss (which I forgot to do today). I've booked my birthday off already! (It's not till February, but I was booking the Sunday in between Xmas and New Year off, and you can do two requests at once, so my boss said I might as well do that at the same time. So I did!)

And talking of work, one of my best finds lately was a book I used to own nearly twenty years ago! (I'd laugh so hard if it were the same copy, but I have no way of knowing). It is the Tolkien Bestiary by David Day. My BFF's mum gave me her copy back in...2000, I think? I lent it to one of her friends and then basically never saw it again. Someone brought it in to work the other day and I was like, RIGHT! MINE!

So now it is sitting on my sofa, waiting for me to find somewhere to put it.

Also I'm not really into the washi tape thing, but yesterday I saw some with SPACE NARWHALS on it, and it was on sale, so I couldn't resist it. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for, but Space Narwhals though!

Oooh, yeah, and some commentary on Critical Role, now I'm on episode 48 of campaign two.

I don't like Caduceus, either! Hands up who is surprised. But I know why this time! It's because I know too many hippy types like him in real life, and I just don't find him interesting. (Also I don't like Taliesin as a player? His whole "I'm going to do this dumb thing because it's amusing" schtick annoys me).

I'm a bit leery about Uk'atoa (Uk'atoa!). I think there's something fishy going on there (no pun intended). Also, like, the orb implanting itself as an eyeball on Avantika's hand gave me Vecna flashbacks (Vecna's symbol is a hand and an eyeball, and the eye implanted in the hand is how I imagined it, but not how it actually looks according to the player's handbook). And also because Uk'atoa is a god/wannabe god that's imprisoned and is seeking a way out is kind of similar? I think it will be interesting to see how that all plays out, eventually, though, but right now I am noping the heck out about it.
