Okay, so I can now officially say that I have a voluntary job! I mean, a paid job would be nice, but I need experience and references.
It's in a charity shop in town, and it's wholly weird to me, because I never thought I could do a retail job* and yet...here we are. Ideally, I'd like to work for a games-based shop (thinking GAME or CEX), since I know a lot about video games?? (CEX would also mean film and TV and some other tech, but I can also do that because my knowledge base is not monolithic and I do know some stuff about some of those things).
Obviously, the job centre are pleased with this turn of events, although I think they'd rather I had a paying job. So would I, but I live in the sticks, I don't drive, and my options are limited. Also, as I said, I don't have the exp yet. But I will accrue it!
They're also pleased that I'm sorting out some Art Stuff, and from the sound of it my work coach thinks I could manage to be self-employed but like nahhhh, been there, done that. I can't afford to be self-employed right now.
So yeah. This is a thing, it's cool, and I'm happy about it!

RE: The FFXII liveblog:
I'm going to overlap a bit from where I left off in 2014, as I unhelpfully said nothing about a huge chunk of the game. So I've made more copious notes this time.
I'm also going to get a bit more ahead (currently at the Stilshrine) before I start posting anything. That way it gives me a breather, and a bit of a buffer.
But SOON.

Talking of art stuff, I've been watching a lot of art peeps on Youtube, as I think I've mentioned before. Aside from getting annoyed at them recommending expensive art materials to people with no money, I've found it's helped me get back into arting, and doing some things I previously might not have?
And it's kind of helped me not be precious about using stuff?
(Although mum no longer being here has also helped with that, as there's a lot of stuff of hers that I had to outright throw, as it no longer worked for whatever reason. I'm glad she was into watercolours/gouache, because at least they don't become unusable after time).
Anyway, it's all good, and it's all stuff that can go towards things that can be prints, or be in my Etsy shop, so yay. (Which. I'm not going to upload anything/open it again until the new year. It feels like there's little point in doing that right now. I'm working on stuff in the background, though, so also yay).

*I still wouldn't work somewhere like a supermarket, because the pace of it would just about kill me. I need relatively stress-free environments, and hopefully this will be one!

I am looking forward to your FFXII liveblog. I just played it for the first time last year, and I loved it. If I get some money for Christmas I'll probably buy Zodiac Age.
My family keeps encouraging me to open an Etsy shop. I'm not too comfortable with the idea. I worry people won't like the stuff they buy and want to do returns. I make a lot of hats and worry they won't fit. I'm much more interested in selling patterns than finished objects. I've got some patterns in testing right now, and the tests are going well!

EEEEE. At the moment it is mostly me raging at sentient vegetables, and running away from elementals. But that's typical of my experience with XII, tbh.
That's good that the test for the patterns are going well. I think you should go with what you feel is right/what makes you happier, rather than what your family think you should do.

I'm glad you're getting back into art :)

Oh man, me too! I think I missed it more than I thought I did, even when I was convinced I was going to quit it altogether.
