and then we said goodbye
I've been putting off posting this, but I think I'm just going to go ahead and do it now, because I can't keep leaving it.

The day before yesterday (Thursday) we had Jinny cat put to sleep. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was for the best. I haven't talked about it, but in about November, the vet found a lump in Jinny's stomach. It was close to her liver and stomach. The vet said it didn't seem to be causing her any pain or discomfort, so she didn't think it was cancerous. She said we should just keep monitoring her from one month to the next, and see how things go.
Things went okay, for a while. The lump didn't seem to get any bigger, at first, but Jinny was gradually losing weight. Then it got a lot bigger, and she lost a whole lot more weight, a lot more rapidly. And then she got a respiratory infection, and just didn't get any better.
I took her to the vet on Tuesday, and the vet said she had maybe a handful of days left to live, possibly a week. The choice was either letting her die naturally (and possibly be in a lot of pain, though the vet didn't say this), or having her put to sleep. Me and mum decided that the latter was for the better, as we didn't want her suffering, because it isn't fair.
So the vet and her assistant came on Thursday dinner time (about twelve thirty), and now I don't have a cat any more.
I miss her horribly, and much more than I thought I would, but I feel like I can deal with it better than I did when Charlie died. It is super weird not having a cat in the house any more, though.
So yeah, if I'm super quiet or whatever, this is why.
ETA: I also forgot to mention she was diagnosed with kidney disease less than six months ago, so that probably didn't help anything, either.
