I FINALLY BEAT A BOSS IN THE LAST REMNANT THAT I HAVE BEEN STUCK ON FOR LITERAL MONTHS.
(I had THE BEST fluke ever - of the few special moves that I got, Rush got one cast of Talisman's Gift. His group was at low health, and deadlocked by the boss, who uses his special move whenever he is in this situation. And because it was physical damage the shield negated it which, considering he does 2500+ HP damamge to you at BR 70, was pretty flipping amazing).
Sadly I have two more boss fights in a row to go *rolls eyes*
You know, before all this bit happened (The Seven), I was willing to overlook The Last Remnant's problems. I do actually enjoy it as a game. But I do not enjoy frustrating boss fights that require several attempts to defeat. I also do not enjoy the fact that, because I got lost in the one place and accidentally gained loads of levels, I have actually shot myself in the foot. (This is a known problem with the Xbox version).
Until just now, I was considering rolling back several saves so I could not do that. I might still, depending on how the next two fights go (they might as well be considered together, since you don't get a break to save between them, which I think is unfair, so I hope the second one is much easier than the first).
I guess this is what I get for crowing about the Gates of Hell fight being a cakewalk.
Also, don't be like me, guys. If you want to play The Last Remnant, get the PC version from Steam. I've got the Xbox version because a) it was there (and cheap) and b) I don't have Steam.

I discovered that cetirizine makes me irrationally angry as well as dog tired! WHAT A WONDERFUL COMBINATION, EH?
I haven't taken any today and you know what? I feel more or less the same, except less tired, and less angry.
I did find that I can get chlorphamine maleate over the counter, so I might try that, or I might just let myself feel like shite all summer and see how it goes.

What's up with the achievements?
no subject
--There is a 200-point achievement for beating an optional mega-boss that is plot-limited (i.e. progress the plot past X and you can't fight it)
--There is a 200-point achievement for completing all sidequests, of which this optional boss is a part
--There is ALSO a 200-point achievement for fighting a fancy version of the final boss, available only if you completed all sidequests
So 600 achievement points--aka 60% of total available achievements--rely on one fucking megaboss hell fight and I am so very mad. (Compare Lost Odyssey, where no matter what you do, if you beat the game, you get 50% of the achievement points.)

I didn't know it was so much of the achievement points. That's fucking ridiculous.

That sucks about cetrizine. Being irrationally angry is such a shitshow because then I get so mad that I'm so angry and it just snowballs!

I do that, too. Brains are stupid.
