New scanner is here! It is small! And light! (It only weighs three pounds, which is less than my cat!) It is also fast, and so quiet you can barely hear it scanning and that is like wtf to me. It is also roughly the same size as my laptop, which is also a little wtf-y, but hey, technology has improved since the last time I got a scanner.

It scans really nice and pretty cleanly, though I will have to try it out on something that isn't canvases or slightly cockled paper (they were the things I had nearest to me). And not my sketchbook, either. I've got a couple of things on loose paper, so this is not a problem.

Also it was the audio lead needed replacing on my headphones. The new one has that weird mesh stuff wrapped round it that I assume is meant to be an anti-tangle measure. It feels strange.

I should finish The Last Remnant and Lightning Returns at some point, but I really just can't be bothered with video games at the moment.

It's always fun to notice improvements in tech when it comes time to buy new equipment. I mostly see it whenever I need a new laptop, which is every two years or so, on average.

How far were you in LR(:FFXIII; that title is clunky no matter how you type it, if you try to do it in full) when you stopped?

Oh yeah, definitely - this was a leap of fifteen years, approximately, hence my amazement.

I have beaten all the storyline bosses, and started (accidentally) wiping out some enemy species. Mostly now it's hanging around until the final day/boss.

Do you mind if I ask you what's the scanner model/brand? I've been wanting a scanner too, but I want something lightweight as I'm still living nomadically from country to country! Yours sound so perfect, can't wait to see more art being delivered to the screen from your papers! :)

Not in the slightest! It's a Canon LiDE 120, which is not the newest model (I think the 220 is), but it's what I could afford. I think it's a decent scanner (though admittedly I've only used it the once at the moment). But yeah, it's so light, it'd be perfect for toting around, if you needed to.
