I watched some Adventure Time for the first time in MONTHS this afternoon, while knitting a pair of ankle socks (they are the same colour as Jake! I did not realise this until I was watching. It was a weird moment). Anyway, they're knitted from a cotton/acrylic mix so I can wear them in the summer and my feet don't die (I know wool is supposed to wick sweat but honestly I don't know if I believe that). They're the first pair I've not knitted in wool, because I have a friend who says you shouldn't knit socks in anything less than fifty percent wool yarn because it will lose its shape. I don't know if I believe that either (although it's likely true), but I can't afford DK weight wool yarn right now, and I want some summer socks, damnit! Guess we'll see, eh?

(I grafted my first toe last night! I had to look up instructions, but by golly, I did it! *dances*)

Anyway, watching Adventure Time confirmed to me that I really don't like Marceline (I thought I didn't but yeah. Now I know I don't). I don't know how much I enjoyed the eps I watched, but I know I didn't hate them. I'd forgotten who most of the princesses were, though (mind you, there's a million and one of them, isn't there? ;) )

Wow, suddenly I am tired and I don't want to do anything. I should probably go to sleep.

Also it's been pointed out to me by a completely random post on tumblr that I went completely off-tangent with my story. Although now I'm writing this and thinking about it, I think I know where I might go with it. But I don't know, and I'm not entirely sure. I'm so out of spoons right now. I think some sleep will help.

The fact that you can knit simply amazes me. I tried, but I found it terribly confusing. :( Also, I love your knitting tag! XD

To be honest, a lot of knitting IS confusing. I only actually learnt properly just over a year ago because I couldn't get the hang of purling. But socks are really easy, because for the most part you're just knitting in circles (unless you're doing a flashy pattern, but I like just plain or stripy socks). Crochet's a lot easier if you ask me.

Thanks! Alas it is not my own invention - someone I talked to on LJ used it and I was like, "that's the best word to describe knitting/crochet ever!" and so I use it for both things.

I once described it to a friend as knitting backwards, and she said, "Yes, that's exactly it!" Apparently it's worse if you knit continental style (but I dunno because it looks complicated enough to knit that way!

Sometimes I have a very difficult time doing things backward, which is probably why purling totally threw me, :\. Oh, my! What is this continental style you speak of? XD

Same here. Oh man, continental is weird - take a look here (Youtube vid). Supposedly it's faster than English style, or whatever "normal" knitting is known as, but it just looks like witchcraft to me.

He is the best :) (he's one of the reasons I watch GoT - the other's the costume porn ;) )

Under normal circumstances, I might say that is how I learned to knit because while I'm right-handed, sometimes doing things left-handed is easier for me (go fig, lol), but as I continued watching the video I came to the realization that is now how I learned to knit. I definitely did the typical right-handed way cuz I would remember doing it, er, "backward." My mom tried it that way and became just as confused as me and she is naturally left-handed!

He certainly plays Jaime well! I'm NGL, Kit is the reason I watch GoT and YES, the clothes~~~! ♥

Yep! I bat left-handed, for example. I cannot bat right-handed. A gym teacher tried to break me of that and it just didn't work. XD
