it is in my head and it will not leave

So you know how I watched Pacific Rim, and I was all kind of, "OK, this is a film. It is a trope pile-up of a film, but it is a film"?

Yeah.

Since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now (for the first time, actually. I think I like the soundtrack better than the film because while the soundtrack is also a trope pile-up, it makes me gleeful).

I mean, it is the driving force behind the idea I'm currently noodling about with, in hopes it will turn into a full-blown story (it better, because DAMN I ACTUALLY CAME UP WITH THEMES FOR IT!) but even so. I keep reading stuff about it (this link, about the film being primarily visual is amazing because YES ACTUALLY I AGREE), looking things up about it, reblogging stuff about it (damn, the colour schemes are AWESOME).

Also while I'm here, I'd like to note that, while conversing with my mum about it, I told her that Mako and Pentecost were the main characters. Nothing anyone can say will change my mind and, while I'm not dismissive of Raleigh at all (for it is about him as well), I think he's an important character, but he's not a main one. I was honestly surprised to discover that he is actually (apparently) the main character because that's not how I saw it at all.
