as if i'm stuck in a loop
There is still a cat stand-off going on in the house. Also new cat (whose name is Jinny) is a cheeky madam - she doesn't like Charlie much right now, but will happily steal her food and use her litter tray. Charlie is not amused by this and, over the past week, has become the clingiest cat on the planet (she follows me around like a dog anyway, but now she seems permanently glued to me). She's also really jealous, and gives me dirty looks whenever I give any attention to Jinny.
(Also Jinny is officially ours now - the Cats Protection Rehoming Officer came around on Thursday to make sure we were happy keeping her, and to get mum to sign papers to say she was ours for keeps :) )

Animes:
I have given up on Gurren Langan for the time being. I do kind of want to watch it all, because someone I follow on tumblr loves it, and she reblogs screencaps of awesome, so, y'know. Maybe later.
Today I caught up on Kill La Kill. Just when I don't think it can get any dafter, it does. It really fucking does. Today's second episode was no exception.
Then I watched the first two episodes of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, but I don't think I'm going to continue with that. It's too saccharine for my tastes (I know it gets better, as it were, but I don't have the patience for it because of the following). I don't like the style, either - it visually reminds me of Yugioh and I find it really off-putting. Also Nanoha and her two friends have identical faces - there's a scene with them lined up in a row, and it really hits you then. Added to which, the first transformation sequence made me feel really uncomfortable - there's nudity and this is a nine year girl. NO.
(Oh oh also Nanoha explaining the story all the time got on my nerves - but this is nothing new. Bladerunner was nearly destroyed for me by Deckard's voiceover. Thank god for the director's cut, is what I'm saying).
(I am the worst person to watch anime with - I'm picky about styles and voices). (Probably the worst person for watching any animation/anything with voice acting in with).
I'm on a promise to watch Sailor Moon, but I don't feel like it right now, and I thought I'd watch Cardcaptor Sakura, since it used to be my internet wife's favourite anime. I'm also going to watch some of Full Metal Alchemist (also one of her faves) with Annette. (I said I'd watch that if she watched Escaflowne). I am also thinking about watching Princess Jellyfish, because it looks interesting.

Anyway, it suddenly got to past midnight, so I think I'd better think about sleeping.

That would make me pretty uncomfortable too, jeez. :o I heard Japanese viewers don't take animated nudity as seriously as if it was a real person showing all the stuff, y'know? I guess that's a good example of that mindset.
Have you never watched Cardcaptor Sakura before? It's super cute, one of my favorites too ♥. And Princess Jellyfish was great also. Those are some good picks :'o

Mmm, I do. But there are things that just automatically squick me, and that's one of 'em.
Nope, I have never seen CCS! I was not in the target audience (too old!) when it was shown over here, and I heard it got butchered when it was dubbed anyway. I just haven't really thought much about watching it, and really I've only just got my head around streaming TV shows anyway (I swear some days I am too old for the internet).

Does Charlie do other things that make her seem like a dog? My roommate's cats carry toys in their mouths, soft balls for example, and meow while they stand in front of you. It's like they want you to play fetch.

Hmm, well the only other thing she really does is when I play with her. I can do a fake throw with a scrunched up ball of paper, like you'd do with a dog, and sometimes we play catch (she gets it between her paws, and then expects me to throw it for her again), but really that's it. She's talkative anyway (feeding times are a delight!) because she's part one of the Oriental breeds (we think Siamese or Burmese, but we don't know).
