I have a massive post of massiveness about me, and RPGs, and my bizarre love of RPGs despite hardly ever having played any (in particular Vampire: the Masquerade). Except I am convinced that no-one wants to read it. Also I can't think of a particularly good way to finish it off (I've always suffered from this, though. I must've driven my teachers and lecturers round the twist).
Anyway, I've spent the day going over my collection of genned characters (which doesn't just include VtM characters), and looking up bits and pieces in sourcebooks. I don't know so much that I would ever want to run a game (though occasionally I am tempted), but I get pinged by little bits of things that jump out to me (I actually found a couple of "pings" from when I read the Changeling: The Lost core rule book. I keep meaning to have a look at the Vampire: The Requiem book, as it happens, to see if any of that pings me).
Right now, though, I'm reading about ghouls (also wights sound interesting, to some extent - I found out about them in the Archons and Templars sourcebook*).
*Not sure I'd want to play as either because of the inherent politics blah, but there's some useful higher level discipline powers in there.
So I'm going to go and do that.
ETA: OH PS: if anyone wants to chat to me on AIM, my username is noiddroid. I'm trying to remember to be logged in more often because I actually really like IM'ing. So if you want to talk complete nonsense or something, I'll be around, hopefully.

Hah, yes, this is exactly how I feel too. So many fascinating stories and people/characters! So many interesting and/or annoying discussions around RP! But playing it... well, you already read that entry. (And big thanks, btw, for doing that!)
Except I am convinced that no-one wants to read it.
Okay, then I am no-one. *grins*

It is interesting (and annoying - I've noticed that there are pen and paper versions of the Stop Having Fun Guys which...I'm glad I don't have to deal with!) I think what doesn't help in my case is that I never knew anyone else who was interested in RPing for a lot of my life and, by the time I did, all my anxieties about new people were set in stone and it was hard to break out of that - which is something I've made a note of in long post of longness. And also that a lot of online RPs scare me off being even being able to join them looks so complicated (which is, again, noted in LongPost).
(And big thanks, btw, for doing that!)
Oh, you're welcome! Thank you for writing it and sharing it, because I can believe a lot of it was hard to revisit.
