OH YES. Guess what happened yesterday?

I managed to get copies of the original games of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. OH YES.

SotC, I thought I'd get a copy of that eventually, but I have never, ever seen a copy of Ico anywhere. Except on Amazon, for ridiculous prices (I checked it out earlier - £45! o_o Although that's not as ridiculous as the prices I've seen for the Raidou games, and if I ever find those, I will be over the freaking moon).

I've played a bit of Ico (read: I got to the first save point). I find it weird in that there isn't a constant soundtrack - as in a score - there is, however, the sound of the wind, and birds, and burning torches, but that's it.

And now, even though I haven't played much, I want to draw heaps upon heaps of tiny (or not so tiny) Icos and Yordas (the image I currently have stuck in my head is of them sleeping (or just resting), leaning against each other. Because it's adorable, I am a sap, and I am already sold on the implied relationship thing).

I am also aware that SotC is THE most sadistic game on the planet. I mainly bought it for the scenery porn, the soundtrack (which I now feel justified in having), and the Colossi themselves (dang, they just look so furry that I want to pet them all. Is that a usual side-effect? I will never be able to even get as far as killing the first one, will I?)

That reminds me that I still need these games. Congrats that you got them! I'm still waiting for prices to drop, at least a little. You know, just so that SotC doesn't cost 40-50 Euros anymore. :/

If I hadn't wanted to go in CEX (Computer Exchange) anyway (I had some DVDs to trade), I never would have seen them. Also the PS2 games are the first thing you see as you go in the front door. And the first thing I saw was Ico (thank god we got the eye catching cover in Europe!) So of course, I had to look if SotC was there.

I'm the same. I'd say around a third of my collection has never been played? (It could be a higher proportion than that) I may have to make a list and see. And even more of them are unfinished, either because I can't be bothered, or because it requires ridiculous input of hours in order to complete them.

I am not one of those people who can spend all their free time playing video games, though. I mean, aside from anything else, Gaming Makes Me Sleepy™ (no, seriously. There are occasions where I've used it as an insomnia cure).
