i love the rowing on central park lake
I am so totally not involved with eljay any more at all. Which is why when it had the DDOS attacks earlier in the week, I thought it was refusing to cross post because it knows and it hates me.
But whatever. Today is Shore Leave Friday, and eljay is behaving itself, so I am happy.

I've been giving myself a "holiday" this week, due to stress balls in both my shoulders (I assume that's what they are; since removing the source of stress, they've stopped hurting. Could be coincidence, but I don't know).
So I drew. And drew. And drew. And tried some digital art, but I'm just not feeling it at the moment, so it was all stuff in my craptacular sketchbook (I finish this one, though, and I get to the fake Moleskine, so we're all good. And then I will need to get a new one when that comes to an end. ANYWAY). It was mostly fanart, but I don't really care. It felt good to be drawing again.
I've also spent two days gawping at some of the some of the most wonderful concept art (courtesy of
fuckyeahconceptart), and getting inspired (always happens - it is the cure for my artist's block. To some degree). And then getting insanely jealous. But the only solution to that is to get better. To learn to draw backgrounds instead of being half-arsed, or not being drawn at all.
(I spent time going through my pics for inspiration, and discovered I don't half pull some weird faces. I may have to do drawings from them just for the lulz).
I also feel like I'm having an art evolution (still trying to get rid of manga influences, and failing). The last time this happened (or felt to have happened) was a good five years ago, so it's about time, heh.

Anyway, I should probably shut up now, because I really am rambling re: art, and I don't have anything else to say, as I'm not getting out much a lot at the moment (but I don't mind, because I am super-tired).
