i do not comprehend
I have just beaten Persona 5.
Yet again, as with FFV, I sat down, expecting it to take me the entire afternoon to beat the final boss, after failing to in the morning, and downed it on the first try. And it only took two goes in total! Am I levelling up at video games??? ;)
I really, REALLY enjoyed it. Like, holy frogs, it felt good to be playing an SMT game, it felt good to be playing a Persona game, and it felt AMAZING to be enjoying it. Not that I haven't enjoyed games recently (FFV Advance is awesome, ya'll), but some of the ones I've played lately, it just hasn't felt like fun. I think that's been to do with my brain space, and the situation I've been in, and, well, the pandemic, but things are a bit different now.
It does kind of irk me that we don't get the entire school year to sort things out but, given how things play out with Shido, that kind of makes sense.
I didn't see it coming that we'd have destroy Mementos (although I think it's mentioned right at the beginning of Strikers, so I obviously erased that from my memory!), nor that the Demiurge would choose to present himself as the HOLY GRAIL of all things!
(I was almost spoilt for that by an Oxboxtra video of all things*, but I got to the bottom of Mementos before I saw the video, so phew, thankfully!)
I did know something was up with Igor because, as I said, I knew the second he opened his mouth that that wasn't his right voice - which given it's like, eight years since I last tried to beat P4, is some good remembering!
I'm kind of sad that Morgana didn't turn out to be human after all, but I did kind of like that he was made as a guide to take the MC and his friends to the bottom of Mementos. Although I do wish he'd been a regular cat and not a mascot, but hey ho.
Other random stuff:
# I kept thinking Haru was saying "Melody", not "Milady" when she calls on her persona, but that's more to do with my ears than anything else.
# I ended up liking the sneaking mechanic more than I thought I would. It was nice to be able to ambush enemies without having to get up behind them (although I still did that sometimes).
# I also like the palace deadlines all didn't rely on "Oh noes, this action will get you kicked out of school!" Like, it makes sense with the first one and maaaayybe the second one, but it's tiresome by the third, so I'm glad they're not all like that.
I think that's everything for now? If I think of anything else, I'll have to make another post! Or something!

Anyway, TL;DR version: I really liked this game, can't wait to play it again on NG+/Royal, and looking forward to whenever (if I ever) get to play Strikers!
