Soooooo, I miiiiight be going to DM some nerds for D&D!
I mean, I did want to have a go at it, but not necessarily DM, but it turns out I'm the one with the most books (and not just D&D) and possibly the most dice.
I knew one of my work colleagues wanted to play with another group, as the one she's with at the moment has problems arranging times when they're all free because they're either working or studying.
The other one I should've twigged might be into it, but it didn't cross my mind because why would it? (also I straight up have never talked to him about TTRPGs until yesterday when we had a random convo about D12s and it went from there).
And then there might be someone else, provided we can convince her that she might enjoy Maths: The Game™
(Also we don't HAVE to play D&D. I have a bunch of the World of Darkness books, so there's also that. And Shadowrun. And the Marvel RPG. But I think it was kind of assumed it'd be D&D, and now I am a fifth into the 3.5e player's handbook*).
It's so weird, like if this does happen (which I don't want to make assumptions that it will), because it's like a convergence of a bunch of things from my recent past have all been leading up to this. It just feels veeeery strange. but also good! I am down for more socialising (esp because I won't be able to do the comics group for the foreseeable, but I'll talk about that another time).

Anyway, in Critical Role Land™, I have just finished episode 26 of the second campaign, AKA That Episode. The one that aired just over a year ago and caused a shitstorm in the fandom.
I'm not sorry to see Molly go. I didn't like him, and I'm not sure now that I even like Taliesin as a player, mostly because of his "I'm going to do something stupid because it will be funny" attitude (which is not what got Molly killed, however). I kind of took it when he was playing Percy because it fit with his character, but I wasn't expecting it to come up again with Molly. And, admittedly, it didn't as much, but he didn't have as much chance.
I assume Caduceus will be different, because he's a cleric, but who knows, man. WHO KNOWS.

*I was intrigued to note that it says the "best"** class for a gnome is a bard, and yet the entire reason Sam Riegel's first character was a gnome bard was because Liam O'Brien told him they were the worst class/race combination to play (which is NOT how it came across in game to me).
**Best is in quotes because I assume that YMMV with any given race/class combo, and just because Wizards of the Coast say this is The Best doesn't mean that you will find that to be the case.
