I've just been listening to some of the DAII banter, because I was hankering for DA (I know, it's weird, right?) and voices, and I thought if I stuck DA:I in the Xbox, I would probably just cry*. Also I wanted to do a picture, so I thought I'd stick the DAII on while I worked. Which I did.

And gosh, Sebastian is condescending, isn't he? That's not just me, right?

(This is the first time I've encountered him, because DLC I don't own, money blah blah blah).

I mean obviously everyone is pretty shitty to everyone else at some point across the board (and some people to each other all the time. Anders, Fenris, I'm looking at you). But from what I've heard so far, Sebastian condescends to everyone. I mean, this is sort of out of context, because obviously I don't know what he's like in the rest of the game. But I'm not exactly warming to him right now.

Although I am loling because he's the only Scot in Thedas**.

Oh yeah, Sebastian can be terrible. I think my least favourite conversation with him was the one where he says Fenris being forced to watch a boy being sacrificed for blood magic was a lesson from the Maker. I mean, holy shit Sebastian! I thought Leliana had scary religious vibes, but I'm pretty sure even she wouldn't say something like that! He's not in my party much, let's put it that way. Like you say, everyone has some really nasty conversations (I love Fenris but some of the stuff he says to Merril is just... wow), but Sebastian is something else.

On the plus side, DA:I makes it pretty clear that Varric hates him too. Oh, but maybe that means it's all artistic licence and he's not really that bad? Naaah... ;)

I heard that one today! Leliana's religious stuff is easier to handle specifically because she's not patronising to those who don't believe the same as her (at least, that's how I've taken it from Origins, and it's not like she's always banging on about it in Inquisition, either). But Sebastian? SMH at him so hard.

Oh that's interesting. It's a shame we don't really have a yardstick aside from Hawke with which to measure II's accuracy (I mean I know Isabela turns up in multiplayer, but I don't play multiplayer, so she may as well not be in the game as far as I'm concerned). So until then, I'd say it's fairly accurate ;)
