"were you listening to me, neo?"
I finally beat Lost Odyssey yesterday evening! \o/
I enjoyed it, but the end part of the game leaves a lot to be desired. Not because it's bad as such - some of the gameplay is frustrating. For example, three separate times you think you're at the point of no return, and it's only on the third that that's true. The other twice, yeah, you can't back out of the dungeon once you're in there, but they're short dungeons, and you're still free to return to wherever once you're done.
The other thing I take issue with is a certain thing that is literally not mentioned at any other point in the game apart from the very end - the place where the villain wants to be so he can accrue all the power ever. You do see said place in flashbacks, but you're never told where it is. So it feels a little like a Big Lipped Alligator Moment.
But those are my only gripes. It's a good game, and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend :)
Now I don't know whether to finish another game I haven't (like FFXIII-2), or play an entirely new one (e.g. NieR).

Questions 16 - 20 from the music meme, AKA CHOOSING IS HARD OK (all the questions)
16: A song by your current favorite band
I have several favourite bands but there's not any who are like my definite fave, so:
Ultra Violet (Light My Way) by U2
A Kind of Magic by Queen
Scoundrel Days by a-ha
(I could probably go on, but I won't).
17: A song you hope to dance to at your wedding
Since I am never getting married, this question is moot. Also I don't dance.
18: A song that would play during your death scene if your life were a movie
Time Is Running Out by Muse - I cheated a bit and picked this because of the title, but no doubt it would probably be something painful and sad sounding. This isn't as painful and sad sounding as some stuff Muse've done (it's pretty cheery, in fact) but, as I said, I picked it for the title, not so much the words (and this is probably the only answer I've fudged in the entire meme so far).
19: A song that would be the anthem of your childhood
Once upon a time, my brother would have told you it was this: The Great Pretender by Freddie Mercury (there's a story behind that, which I won't bore you with).
20: A song from your favorite film
Ahahahaha, if only I knew what my favourite film was!
Blade Runner End Titles by Vangelis (Blade Runner)
Back to the Future Main Theme (Alan Silvestri) (Back to the Future)
Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan (The Matrix)
Jurassic Park Main Theme (John Williams) (Jurassic Park)
...Four is probably enough, right?

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I keep meaning to replay the game every time i see you mention it, but. Backlog. sob.

I did! I would definitely want to play it again and do more of the bonus bosses/find more of the items. And I like the characters, they're all great (even the kids)!

The kids sent me up the wall but I tend to be very frustrated by child characters in RPGs, so that's a personal gripe of mine. I really do want to replay the whole thing though. I do so adore Sarah and Ming.

Mostly young kids in stuff (esp in Japanese stuff) do irritate me, but then again I like Eiko in FFIX, and I know how pretty much everyone else who likes that game feels about her. So that Cooke and Mack didn't bug didn't entirely surprise me. Though that also could've been down to the German dub? IDK.

Also I never heard that song by Muse but now I really really like it :o

:D I love Muse. I've not heard a bad song they've done, if they've done one.
