*vomits music at you*

All right, thanks to [personal profile] beccatoria, I have spent a day and a half messing about with MuseScore. Which is a fabulous FREE piece of software, which you can use to compose music on. Well, that's what it's meant for. I'm going to use it for the playing of music and then recording it and doing stuff with it and posting it to the internet so people can point and laugh at me listen to it.

Which is why I'm here! I've got a buttload of sheet music on my computer so I've been transcribing some of it into Musescore to get my head around how the program works (because my grasp of music theory is weak, aside from anything else).

This is, like, the fiftieth thing I've done, and it's not brilliant, and it lasts about thirty seconds. It's about as much of Terra's Theme as I could deal with transcribing (tired + program not doing what I want it to = grumpy Jae). So here it is: https://soundcloud.com/tubelined/terras-theme-ffvi-incomplete

(better user picture coming when I can find one) found a better, more vaguely relevant one!

Feedback is good, if you've got it. If you haven't, no worries. Just wanted to share like the overeager puppy I am.

Awesome! I mean, I really don't have much feedback cus, like, it seems to do what it says on the tin? It sounds like you transcribed the theme and chose instruments appropriate to a sort of 8 bit sound? (Also you are probably using the default Musescore soundfont, which isn't the bestest - you can get a better one following these instructions - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tc_mRDru1o - it's still not amazing for like...some strings and stuff, but it's better for sure!)

Anyway, I'm really thrilled that you've been getitng use out of this! :D

ETA: AAAAAAAnnnnd now I see in your previous entry you're talking about soundfonts, so sorry for teaching you stuff you already know! ;)
