ora ora ora!
I really need to make myself a Jojo icon.
Currently I am about two-thirds? of the way through Stardust Crusaders. I found myself properly getting into it this afternoon, which was good!
Tweets first:
Finished Battle Tendency last night! (OK, early hours of this morning)
Now to see what the hype about Stardust Crusaders is, I guess! - obviously I didn't start it right there and then, though.
Jotaro is 500% done with everything, all the time. - this is TRUE FACT.
Everybody loves seeing Dio get punched, y/y? - don't lie, you know it's true.
I've decided Captain Teneille's stand's name is Aquaman. I know it isn't (can't remember what it is).
Oh wait no I can. Aquaman's better :d - looks NOTHING like Aquaman, but like my brain's going to let that stop me.
I tried to draw Jonathan and it came out looking more like Dio and I'm screaming internally.
Oh yes. When I last left JJBA, we were looking at Dio's arse. - this is actually true. One of the chapters opens with it being lovingly hugged by a piece of material he just decided to fling over himself. WTH ARAKI.
Also I'm not sure why Araki bothered trying to hide Dio's identity. We all know it's him and what he looks like. - this is established really early on in Part 3, and I think Enya even refers to him by name when she's talking to him, soooooo...yeah...not really sure what's going on with that.
Just realised Star Platinum's colour scheme is complementaries. - GUESS WHO I WAS DRAWING. GO ON. GUESS.
This like the second guy to go after Polnareff. Wouldn't they do better going for Jotaro?
Guessing he's some kind of bait. - by which I meant bait to draw Jotaro out, but also thinking about it later, I presume the enemies are taking away his support network, and starting with (what they assume is) the weakest link.
Questioning Dio's acquisition of a stand.
Wondering if it happened because of a certain event and might not have otherwise. - trying not give away spoilers BUT. I am pretty convinced that had Dio not hijacked Jonathan's body, he wouldn't have a stand. Or he certainly wouldn't have The World. I think it's what would've been Jonathan's stand, had he lived long enough. I know I'm not the first person to think of this, and I probably won't be the last. Also there's a WMG on TVT that says more or less the same and that makes me happy :)
(Also, thinking about names and so on, it's pretty funny that Dio's stand is The World, because what do most villains want? Why, the world, of course).
Joseph's piloting skills are like Maya's boat driving skills - i.e. Terrible. - no-one should let either of them near any vehicles, ever.
they shouldn't let him near the controls of that submarine. - Just after I tweeted that, Joseph crashed the submarine they were in. (Granted it wasn't his own fault, but STILL!)
Man, I love how gleeful Star Platinum is when it's beating the crap out of stuff.
In other news, the Jojos have FINALLY got to Egypt.
So my thoughts about Stardust Crusaders are pretty much:
~ I can see why it's less liked by Westerners, but I can also possibly see why the Japanese like it so much.
~ I like the characters; I think Abdul is my favourite so far (from this part, anyway) (I was not prepared for him dying so soon (except that he didn't!) but thanks tumblr because you've spoilt me for both character deaths in this part. I'm just waiting for them to happen now. Even TVT wasn't this cack-handed re: spoilers. Not sure how I will react. Because I've been spoilt, I think it'll be more along the lines of, "eh ok then" rather than the sad I felt for Caesar).
~ I wish Araki would stop drawing attractive villains - crushes so far now on Steely Dan, N'Dour, and Mariah (and I think there was someone else but I can't remember who right now)
~ I think J. Geil had the most interesting/inventive stand so far. I like the way it's used, and I found parts of that bit really frikken' creepy.
~ OMG NOTHING PREPARED ME FOR THE BIT WITH FOREVER (the orangutan) AND HIS STAND. That was WAY more disturbing than I was expecting.
~ Anyway, now we are in Egypt and have just fought Midler and are about to encounter Mariah.
~*~
I got nothin' else really. I've been a bundle of nerves and panic attacks so obviously that's been fun. Although I have been drawing, and I am trying to utilise colour more (and in different ways) so that's good! I wish I would stop waking up at 8:30 am, but there's not really a lot I can do about that.
