Hey guys, are we up for some audience participation?
Can you recommend me music from game soundtracks for fights - ideally boss fights would be better, but normal enemy encounters are fine, too, as are victory/success themes :) Anything you think is awesome-sounding.
I'm OK for Final Fantasy, Okami, Resident Evil, and Mass Effect.
Music from fight scenes in films would also be pretty cool, too (I tried to think of some examples, and all I'm coming up with is music from the Matrix trilogy so. PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING THERE. If you've got a rec, I WANT IT).
The reason I'm doing this is that I want a playlist to write to, and I like boss music at the best of times anyway (unless I had a traumatic experience fighting that boss). Also I figured this might spur me into writing actual fight scenes, because I've been avoiding it because I've never written one before in my life.
(Game over themes as well, actually - the sadder sounding, the better).

Liberated Guardians (Shadow of the Colossus)
Deep Crimson Foe and Dark Colossus Destroys All (Nier)
Griffin's Bane (Dragon's Dogma)
Thunder Wolf Wyvern Zinogre (Monster Hunter Portable 3rd)
Totally recommend the whole soundtracks for all of the series above if you like boss music, they're all very heavy on 'encounter with big monsters' tracks.
Also not game music, but fits the similar tone...maybe??

I can't believe I forgot about Shadow of the Colossus! It's one of my favourite soundtracks, and I was listening to it not so long ago, too. But cheers for the reminder :)

That would be perfect because encounters with big monsters is what I'm after, as it happens :D (I mean not literally, but that's what I'm trying to evoke).
Hey not game music is fine, too! I forgot to mention anime/TV in the main post anyway (mind you, not that I can think of any TV with awesome fight music, but there we go).
