Neither do I, to be honest, but it kind of bugged me that you could see a lot of them coming a mile off (I believe this is deliberate on del Toro's part, though) and...I don't know. I think it might have gone better had I watched it at the cinema and I hadn't had to contend with my mum interrupting a lot, and people visiting the house! (The climax was essentially wrecked because of that - I got the last 30 or so minutes uninterrupted, but any tension there might have been was ruined because the film got paused for half an hour at that point).
I'm actually about to give it another go now. No distractions, just me and the film in a darkened room :D
Yeeeah, see, I don't know anything about the Transformers films, but I actively avoided them because I didn't want my childhood ruined (I loved them when I was a young 'un, which is why I shouldn't be surprised to learn that I do like humongous mecha). But I'm honestly not surprised that that's how those films turned out to be (I have not heard anything positive about Michael Bay, tbh).
