I had a doctor's visit yesterday, to see if I should continue with the iron tablets. The upshot is that for now, yes. I have to have blood tests at the end of the month, which includes a liver function test (you see I am a sad case, and I get excited when I have to have tests that outside of the normal blood count/iron levels etc). I assume it's to check I've not got too much iron in my intake now (I did google, but results weren't that helpful - mostly "it's to check you've not got hepatitis/cirrhosis/bile duct problems").

He said he'd get in touch if there were any problems, but I'm fairly certain there won't be.

(He almost represcribed the antidepressants, and I was all, LOL FUCK NO. That was a narrow escape).

Currently reading Mass Effect: Ascension, because it's the only book in the series that our library system has. I'm only a handful of pages in, so I'm not really sure about it yet. I keep forgetting I started reading it, however, and got side-tracked by reading a TVT page on my phone instead (mobile devices are ruining my life, I swear).

(In vaguely related news: I've got to Rannoch with Zoe and...I kind of don't want to do it (if only because it will take FOREVER), and I want to import Ras into ME2 and yell at people instead.

(One of these days, I'm going to go right through the trilogy with a flip-flop Shepard - i.e. picking alternate responses every time I have to input. Just for the lulz to see how close to fifty fifty Paragon/Renegade I can get).

Oooh yes! Have any of you guys watched Dennou Coil? If so, what did you think of it? I saw it mentioned on a tumblr I was looking through and it looked pretty weird, and it sounds vaguely interesting so...I dunno?

Also I'm thinking about checking out some of the Precure series, maybe starting with Smile Pretty Cure! (I expect the saccharine levels to be THROUGH THE ROOF, but it looks cute, and Smile! has fairy tale motifs, and I love a fairy tale motif almost as much as I love a tarot motif. I mean, that's pretty much the entire reason I watch Once Upon A Time besides finding Josh Dallas hot and maybe fawning over some of the costumes). Opinions on that would be good, if you have them?

Oh gawd those Mass Effect novels. They only had the one available in my library as well but my brother-in-law bought me the three of them for Christmas one year and I still haven't finished Ascension (also the one I started with haha). I do the exact same thing where I'll start reading and then I'll get sidetracked and never go back to it.

In fact, speaking of that I just did that with A Game of Thrones. I'm in the like, last 40 pages or something and my book grew legs and walked away on me. In the meantime, I've started two other novels because...BECAUSE.

Ahahaha, OH NO. Really I wanted to read about Saren and Anderson, but since this was the only available book, I thought I'd try it to see how I liked Drew Karpyshyn's prose writing. But this one has the Illusive Man *rolls eyes* and Kahlee Sanders, and all I know about her is from ME3, and that's not a right lot, so...I'm reluctant to read it. I'm going to give it a shot, though.

That's the reverse of me - I got about 40 pages into GoT, and gave up because fantasy novels really aren't my thing (I can manage urban fantasy, but not high fantasy for some reason). That said, I have read all of Arya's chapters in all the books, because I like her (one day Imma do Jaime's and Brienne's, but that day hasn't come yet. So I guess eventually I'll have read all of them, heh).

I'd like to think that the Illusive Man would be interesting to read about, but maybe that's just me |D;; Oddly enough I take great joy in reading/writing a character who believes so strongly in their ways that they think they're doing right. Makes me wonder if they knew differently before and if so, at what point did they change?

LOL I found Ned's chapters boring half of the time. He's a frustrating character, otherwise.

I find it hilarious that most of my rage has been spent on the prince and Ned, really.

I can't make myself read just one character's chapters if only because I know myself enough to know I'll never go back to them T^T So sometimes I need to just deal with them.

No, it's not just you. And you make a good point! (One I hadn't thought of, admittedly). I think I just get annoyed with the way he's presented in game, and that really the only voices we hear talking about him are Jacob and Miranda, and they don't say anything bad about him. So it'd be nice to have a balancing point of view (I don't know how Ascension handles him). I know we're told Cerberus does bad/reprehensible stuff, but aside from us running around going CERBERUS IS EVIL AND EXPERIMENTS ON HUMANS (and other races? IDK), there's not a lot else, and that irritates me.

That's the best summary of Game of Thrones I've seen :D
