So because it felt autumnal, and I was in the mood for an SMT game, I restarted Soul Hackers, even though I was going to do my New Game+ on Digital Devil Saga. I don't know why, brains are weird.
Anyway, I only got an hour into it when I first tried it, back in 2016. I got put off by Nemissa's voice, which is weird because LAURA BAILEY, and also the voice she uses is pretty close to Rise's voice, so IDK what 2016 me's problem was.
I'm ten or so hours in now, and I don't really know what to make of it? Everything is incredibly nineties, but it came out in 1997, so this does not surprise me in the slightest. I haven't run into problems with the demon loyalty system yet, but I can imagine that might cause problems in the future. Also most of my demons right now are, unintentionally, a neutral-chaos skew, but only because I only just started encountering law-aligned demons in the most recent dungeon. I may yet have to go on a mission to Collect All the Angels™ (because that's what I always do in SMT games, because why not).
The only thing that really frustrates me about this game is the lack of money (like, I should be able to afford decent equip upgrades and I can't!) and that magnetite is used up by just walking around with your demons, as well as for summoning and healing them. But I suppose the thing with the magnetite is only annoying because I've not encountered it before. I guess I will just have to keep making visits to the Sea Ark to grind for it!

Talking of which, I think I might do Draw a Random Demon/Inktober this year but I might start in September instead and, as usual, put no pressure on myself to produce a drawing every day.
I mean, it's not like I don't have plenty of ink and things to experiment with, right? Though depending on when I'm working/how much work I'm doing depends on how much experimenting I might actually get to do, but we'll see when we get there.

....Magnetite is one of many reasons i eventually bounced off Soul Hackers.

Yeahhhhh, it's not endearing me to it, either - considering it's such a needed resource, I'd expect the gains from random fights to be higher, but they're not.
