(no subject)

So, I was going to put this on twitter, but I decided not to, so it's going here instead.

The other day when I was at work, My Girl by The Temptations came on. So I'm listening to it, and singing along, and it suddenly occurred to me that a certain series of books I have read, by a certain YA author, is basically a Fix It for the film of the same name.

I probably wouldn't have thought of this, had I not, for whatever random reason, seen tweets about the film recently. And I have been thinking about said series recently for some reason (I thought about rereading, but IDK if the one character will make me want to stab things, as he is wont to do).

But. The author is the same age as me, and there's NO WAY on this shiny green-blue planet she did not see that film and maybe watch it a whole bunch of times.

Unless, of course, I am seeing connections where they don't exist. (it's my brain, it's a thing that happens).

I'm only not naming names because, like I said, I was originally going to post this on twitter, and I wouldn't be surprised if she name searches.

Anyway, this is what happens when I am bored at work, apparently!

I love your tag for this :D (also, it wouldn't surprise me at all if your theory was correct)

I think nowadays it would be easier, I see people getting into contact with creators over Twitter and such, but not everyone likes doing that. I met Neil Gaiman once and it was awful because I literally couldn't get a coherent sentence out, I had to hand him a pre-written note to please sign my shirt. And even if it's just social media, that kind of awkwardness is still there for me.
