i don't want to go out; don't want to stay in
Okay, so the super super short version of why I've been so absent/whatever:
Mum got ill back in early July, and ended up in hospital for about seven weeks. She was then transferred to a care home for some rehabilitation and was there for about five weeks. She also had to go back into hospital for ten days with what I suspect was norovirus, but which everyone else said was something else (but considering she was sick in almost exactly the same way as me and we had it at the same time, I call bullshit). I was visiting her every day, doing a thirty mile/three hour round trip on public transport (apart from when my brother took me), and that took a lot out of me. As did worrying about mum. (If you follow me on twitter, this was why all the tweets about people on the bus, dogs on the bus, and ranting about being stuck in traffic).
So for three months, it was just me, the cat, and Critical Role ;)
(hey, I got myself to halfway through the archive, so that wasn't bad going, really).
I did enjoy being on my own, but obviously I was worried about mum. She's been home for a week and a half now. I think I'm used to her being back now. I'm not so sure she's used to being here. But it's all different for her, where it's not so different for me.
I mean, I probably still won't post a lot, because there's not a lot going on in my life, but at least I don't feel braindead all the time?

Talking of Critical Role, I have seen Vex's death in episode 44 (I'm currently on 57). I knew it was coming, I have for a year, but it was still kind of a shock? I thought it would happen while they were fighting the beholder, not because of the tomb itself. (I'm surprised fandom doesn't make more of Vax haranguing Percy about it, but I guess I don't delve into the fandom much, and I wasn't around at the time?)
I thought the episodes with Gern and Shale were great (and I nearly choked on whatever I was eating/drinking at the time from laughing. Though to be fair, that happens a lot when I watch CR anyway...)
I also was pretty much holding my breath the entire way through the fight versus Umbrasyl (though I was really stoked when they beat him. Obviously).
I'm still puzzled as to why people keep (kept) calling Vax emo. I mean, even when he is, he has a valid reason. Like his sister dying. I shouldn't let that bother me, but it does annoy me when people call characters emo without evidence of such (I will never let it go that people call Cloud emo when he really isn't, and totally has reasons when he is).

I've got nothing else but hi, I am back! I will try to be more interactive where possible! (I was reading, just not commenting. If you feel I've missed something important, point me at it?)
