Having an interesting day reading and writing - had an idea which I've managed to get a lot down for, which is good! I like it when stuff like this happens.

Also listening to the Halo soundtracks. They're supposed to have Awesome Music according to TVT, so I am listening. (Synths and Omnious Chanting is generally the way to my heart*). There's a lot more guitar and whiny-sounding American men on the Halo 2 soundtrack, not sure I like it as much. But I suppose maybe the people who play these games are into American rock music? *shrugs* (eta: The second part is more instrumental. Better!)

And my mood is better today so yay.

*Talking of which: I owe halley a music rec post from nearly a year ago, but I keep not finishing it. But I thought about doing a short bunch of youtube links to music I really like (like, say, my fave Vangelis, my favourite FF track, etc). Just a REALLY short list that gives you some sort of idea of the things I like**. (I like sharing music, what can I say?)

**Also yup - have not forgotten about the other posts I said I'd write. I started on the mage one the day before my birthday, but found it really hard to write, and I dare say it didn't help my mood. So that one's on hold for a little while, but I'll get to the other two soon :)

I've only played one Halo game to completion but I really like the soundtracks. There's a couple of orchestra covers out there too (I want to say they're on the Play! albums, not sure though) which sound excellent.

I love music rec posts so consider this encouragement from me to do one. :p

I've never really listened much to Halo soundtracks though I would think they would be very interesting to listen to! ^o^ I am in love with the Mass Effect ones though.

Ah yes! I seem to remember that. I am still curious lol I'm thinking of doing something similar to that but more like a series of themed music posts like "favorite game soundtracks" "favorite jpop" and so on?? It sounds like something I'd enjoy doing but knowing me I'll start a few and never get around to the rest.

The soundtracks are amazing (I think the one CD of the Halo 2 soundtrack was a weird blip ;) ) Oohhhhhh orchestra covers (I am SO weak for those).

They're good, and the style is reminiscent of the ME soundtracks in places (not like either composer ripped off the other, but you know what I mean?) Definitely worth a listen, though.

I like your idea! I'm sorry it's taken so long, but the trouble is choosing stuff, you know? But I was wandering around town, listening to stuff the other day, and I thought, "Heh, this is sort of typical of my music tastes! OH AND THIS ONE!" I mean yeah, so is my last.fm, but that's a bit impersonal AND it doesn't include everything I listen to, or I'd want to link to.

I think maybe what you should do is a couple of posts but don't say you're planning on doing a series or whatever, because that immediately puts stress on you to follow through, and then you'll feel worse if you don't. So just do some, see how it goes, and if it feels OK, do a couple more.
